Call for Entries
Submission Due Date: February 22, 2010
The undergraduate journal of arts and literature of Ohio Northern University is now accepting submissions for poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Prizes to be awarded in each genre: first place $75; second place $25. Deadline is February 22, 2010. Winners will be published in Polaris, and all entries will be considered for publication.
- Nonfiction: Up to 5,000 words, creative nonfiction, humor, travel narrative
- Fiction: Up to 5,000 words, absurdist, experimental, prose poetry, open to anything with an interesting voice
- Poetry: Submit 3-5 poems, avant-garde, free verse, traditional
- Art: Submissions should be sent as .TIFF or .JPEG files. All media are acceptable. Artists should also include a Microsoft Word document containing their name, the titles and media of works submitted, and a brief artist's statement. Maximum of three works per artist.
Please include a cover sheet with brief author biography and contact information. The author's name should not appear anywhere else on the document. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but the author must notify us immediately via e-mail and prior to March 31 if his/her work is accepted for publication elsewhere. Contributors will be notified by April 1 via e-mail.
