Student Representative (SR)
A Student Representative (SR) shall be a student elected by the student members of his/her region to perform the following duties:
Regional Duties
- Produce a regional newsletter twice a year.
- Respond to concerns of students within region.
- Periodically post materials and updates to regional page on national website and to bulletin board.
- Contact Regent, Associate Student Representative, and Student Leadership Committee at least once a month.
- Be available for possible visits to other chapters within region.
- Work closely with Regent in planning regional conferences or other activities.
- Keep a notebook of all email correspondence during tenure.
- Send a note of welcome to new and reactivating chapters within region.
National Board Duties
- Attend all necessary Board and committee meetings.
- Serve on Student Leadership and two other committees as appointed by Society President.
- Aid in the development and implementation of the Leadership Workshop.
- Submit an annual report to the Board.
- Represent concerns of students within region to the Board.
International Convention Duties
- Attend international convention.
- Moderate regional meetings and activities.
- Introduce, preside, and/or moderate sessions and activities as designated by the convention chair.
Each new Student Representative shall be given a letter of welcome from his/her Regent, including all addresses and phone numbers at which the Student Representative may contact the Regent.
