Better World Book Drives for Better Lives

Help break the cycle of poverty through education and literacy... while raising funds for your chapter!

Sigma Tau Delta has partnered with Better World Books (BWB) to provide an ongoing opportunity for chapters to participate in biannual book drives running February 1st - July 31st and August 1st - January 31st.

BWB collects and sells books online to fund literacy initiatives worldwide. This campus program provides each chapter with the opportunity to foster global literacy, while at the same time raising funds for their chapter. BWB will partner with every chapter to host an on campus book drive to benefit one of the following nonprofit global literacy partners of their choice:

The BWB book drive is a turnkey operation. They supply promotional materials, packing supplies, and cover all shipping costs.

Participating chapters will have the opportunity to earn additional cash for chapter use (.50 per acceptable book, $1.00 per acceptable prescreened book, $1.25 per acceptable book when more than 1,000 acceptable books are collected). Better World Books will supply a scan gun to help identify acceptable books. Approximately 80% of books that are scanned are acceptable. Student members of chapters that have participated in at least one BWB chapter book drive will also be eligible to apply for the 2010 Better World Books Summer Internship, located in Alpharetta, Georgia.
