STARS Application Process
Sigma Tau Delta now utilizes the Scholarship Tracking and Review System (STARS) to enable students to apply online for scholarships and academic awards.
Five Things You Need to Know About STARS
- Downloading and printing the STARS Instructions is recommended. These instructions offer a detailed guide on how to complete the application.
- Navigate via the links and buttons within STARS Online. Never use your browser's back arrow.
- Write down and remember the STARS user name and password you create. Strong applications will probably not be produced in just one session at the computer; you will need to log back in.
- You must submit an electronic copy of your transcript(s). Official or unofficial transcript copies are acceptable at the time of application, but scholarship winners will be required to provide official copies of transcripts, for verification, before a scholarship is awarded.
- STARS will ask you for information about your recommenders and will send an email to request secure, confidential submission of your recommendation letters. Make sure your recommenders are aware of the deadline for receipt of all recommendations: November 6, which is one week after the application deadline.
Deadlines and Award Notifications
We anticipate that fall scholarship offerings will be open by September 4, 2012, and will close on the deadline of October 29. Notifications will be made prior to March 1, 2013.
