Meet the Student Advisors
Lauren Brandeberry

Lauren Brandeberry is the Student Advisor for the 2009-2011 term. She is a graduate student at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) working on an M.A. in Composition and Rhetoric. After that she hopes to get a job working for a school or non-profit, and then possibly another degree of some kind. It is assumed that this will leave her buried in student loan debt for the rest of her natural born life. She is the Treasurer of her local Sigma Tau Delta chapter, Webmaster for the UCO chapter of the National Organization for Women, Vice President of the UCO English Graduate Organization, and President of the UCO Association of Women's Studies.
Lauren lives in a small house near campus with her husband, two evil cats (one of them even eats books), and a truly neurotic dog. Her two step-sons visit every other weekend to ensure that the house has that authentic "lived in" feel. In the rare free time that she has outside of school activities, Lauren likes to read, write, cook, design websites, and work in the yard. She has a passion for SCUBA diving, though her busy schedule and college student budget mean her equipment is gathering dust in her parents' garage. So far, her suggestions that the next convention be held in Jamaica have fallen on deaf ears.
Anna Morgan
Oklahoma Baptist University
Shawnee, OK

Anna Morgan is currently attending Oklahoma Baptist University, a small liberal arts school smack-dab in the center of the state. She loves learning, period. But some learning she thinks is better left in more capable hands, so with literature (her major), history (her minor), and music (what she'll study in her second life) she enjoys a one-on-one relationship, but science and math and anything remotely related to technology she enjoys vicariously. She hails from western Washington and misses mountains and tall green things, but is currently loving watching sunsets when she runs and thunderstorms, but not when she runs. She will, hopefully, graduate with a B.A. in English Literature in 2011, and is currently trying to figure out a way to bring all her friends and professors with her to grad school (where she's planning on camping out somewhere in 20th century literature). She would love to hear suggestions on how exactly one can accomplish this feat.
As the 2010-2012 Student Advisor, she is a testimony to the fact that literature changes lives (she will happily tell her stories, especially if there's coffee and comfy chairs involved), and through her term serving in Sigma Tau Delta, is eager to help foster a love for words, for stories, and for the people both in the pages and out.
